Woodside has entered into a long-term liquefied natural gas supply agreement with Türkiye’s state-owned pipeline operator, Boru Hatları ile Petrol Taşıma AS (BOTAŞ). Under the agreement, Woodside will deliver approximately 5.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas equivalent—around 0.5 million tonnes of LNG per year—over a period of up to nine years, beginning in 2030.

The deal formalizes the non-binding Heads of Agreement signed earlier this year and confirms both companies’ intention to expand cooperation across the LNG supply chain. LNG volumes will be sourced primarily from Woodside’s Louisiana LNG project in the United States, currently under development, along with supplies from Woodside’s global portfolio.

“This agreement marks Woodside’s first long-term LNG supply contract with the Turkish market and represents an important step forward for our global growth strategy,” said Mark Abbotsford, Woodside Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. “It highlights the breadth and flexibility of our LNG portfolio. We also acknowledge the support provided by the Turkish and U.S. governments following the earlier agreement.” The contract reflects closer energy ties between Türkiye and the United States and sets the foundation for a broader strategic partnership between Woodside and BOTAŞ, supporting energy security and economic development in both countries.

Boru Hatları ile Petrol Taşıma AS (BOTAŞ) is one of Türkiye’s most strategic state-owned enterprises in the energy sector. Established in 1974, BOTAŞ is responsible for the safe, reliable, and economical transportation of energy resources, primarily natural gas and crude oil, through pipeline systems. The company plays a key role in national and international pipeline projects that position Türkiye as an important energy corridor, contributing significantly to the country’s energy supply security. By focusing on sustainability, environmental responsibility, and technological advancement, BOTAŞ continues to strengthen its operations and add value to the national economy.

Woodside is a global energy producer with operations spanning Australia, North America, and Africa. The company played a key role in establishing Australia’s LNG industry in the 1980s and has supplied natural gas reliably to domestic and international markets for decades. Woodside’s current strategy focuses on maintaining a resilient and diversified portfolio across oil, gas, and emerging energy projects while supporting the global energy transition.
