U.S. moves toward supplying Romania with a new style of nuclear plant

  1. The key is how will nuclear energy end up being classified at the EU level.

    Because that will decide if it can be funded from fosil phasing out funds or be regarded as an energy source that is just as dangerous as fosils.

    Green or atleast transitional energy that some EU members want to be classified as with Romania and France included and on the other side Germany that shut down all or most of their nuclear stuff?

    In the context of the ukrainian war and the energy crisis stemmed from it i would imagine it would be leaning more towards being classified atleast as transitional especially if US and Romania could convince our common buddy Poland that has to phase out alot of coal to sign off on it.

  2. I get to be the Debbie Downer who reminds the thread that none of these small modular reactors have yet been built anywhere.

    But yeah, getting off the carbon teat.
