Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, known as a supporter of US President Donald Trump, has strongly condemned the US attack on Venezuela.

The US military action shows that “international law does not apply, military force is used without a UN mandate, and anyone who is big and strong does what they want,” the left-wing nationalist wrote on Facebook.

As the head of government of a small country, he said he must “resolutely reject such an undermining of international law,” just as he had rejected the Iraq War and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Fico also called on the European Union to issue an equally “consistent” condemnation, as it did with the attack on Ukraine. Otherwise, the EU would be “hypocritical,” he wrote.

Fico is often criticized by opponents as “pro-Russian” because he opposes EU sanctions against Russia that, he claims, would harm Slovakia more than Russia.
