gee, I wonder which state in Europe is stuck in pathetic cold-war mind-games and would do something as hilariously petty as this?
I bet it was Andorra
>Rogne told DN it’s possible foreign governments could be interested in underwater surveillance information picked up by the cables, or simply the cables themselves, as they are comprised of unique Norwegian technology that could be useful elsewhere.
Maybe the aim would be to develop a tapping device for use on other cables of the same sort, and you’d need a sample to work with to test the thing on?
I’m assuming that these aren’t off-the-shelf commercial hardware if the Norwegian marine monitoring guy is willing to mention obtaining the cable as a possible rationale.
Looks like Switzerland strikes again /s
Must be Liechtenstein and their dreaded special forces, as usual.
Swedes are at it again.
Could it be the infamous enemy in the east, Finland?
