russian state propaganda continues to circulate false claims about the situation along the front line near the city of Rodynske, attempting to portray the settlement as having been captured. According to Ukrainian reports, these narratives rely on edited footage and manipulative messaging designed to distort the real battlefield situation and mislead both domestic and international audiences.
The disinformation campaign was addressed in an official statement by the Azov 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine, which dismissed the claims as entirely untrue. The 1st Corps emphasized that the reports being spread by russian sources do not reflect the actual operational reality on the ground.
As of January 4, 2026, Ukrainian forces continue to hold defensive positions within Rodynske and on its immediate approaches.
The defense is being conducted jointly by the Chervona Kalyna 14th Operational Assignment Brigade, the Liubart 20th Operational Assignment Brigade, and the 132nd Reconnaissance Battalion of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the Azov Corps, Ukrainian units maintain control over all key positions in and around the settlement. This control enables the defenders to block enemy advances, monitor russian movements, and prevent the occupiers from establishing any meaningful presence inside the city.
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence has released a new video compilation showcasing the destruction of high-value russian military assets in temporarily occupied Crimea throughout 2025.
Described as “fireworks in Crimea”, the video documents a series of successful strikes against a wide range of russian military targets. The material captures confirmed episodes of combat operations carried out by the Prymary unit over the past year.
