  1. It’s kinda nice to see Sligo mentioned on this sub and it’s not some sort of death or drug thing. Even if it is kinda bad news.

I always loved Sligo. It’s a genuinely underrated county.

  2. *Everywhere* is a rent pressure zone in a housing crisis and those rent rise regulations should apply across the island

  3. If these landlords have children and grand children, I hope they sleep well at night knowing they are gouging the earth before their children’s feet.
Feckers should be banned from letting houses pulling shit like this.

  4. Thought they couldn’t raise rent more than 2% of the rent agree price and no more than once a year?

Or was I misinformed by the auld lad in the pub?

  5. Very similar thing happened to us in Mayo. Had been in the house for two years. The property manager came out to look at a leak we had as the property was so old. Entire front two rooms had a massive damp patch with peeling plaster etc

As he was looking around he stepped out into the back garden and said something to the effect of ‘This is a fine big garden. How much rent were you paying again?’

We knew we were f***ed as soon as he said it. The next week we got a letter from him saying that the rent was going from €800 – €1200.

Nothing said about the leak though…..
