Police are warning drivers that dense fog is present in more regions of Moldova, significantly reducing visibility in traffic. Additionally, due to low temperatures, black ice can form on road surfaces, enhancing the risk of road accidents.
In the context, drivers are urged to reduce speed and constantly adjust it to the weather and road conditions. It is important to use headlights and, if necessary, fog lights.
At the same time, drivers should maintain a greater distance from the vehicle in front, avoid sudden maneuvers, and make sure that their vehicle is properly equipped for winter conditions. Police units are on the ground, monitoring the situation and intervening for the safety of all road users.
Meteorologists have issued a Yellow Code warning for complicated weather conditions, valid from January 4, 10:00 to January 5, 14:00, across the entire country. On this period, widespread black ice, sleet deposits and ice formation on roads are expected.
