    I am still planning where I want to move to, and I admit for terrain alone, I did consider the Maastricht area. I think I sitll prefer the Randstad, I want to be among the busier cities, but I will definitely visit here. Possibly often

  11. If you’re not accounting for the push moraines in Central and Eastern The Netherlands that sometimes exceed 100 meters above sea level. Not as striking as the beautiful hills in Southern Limburg though.

  13. Moved to Arnhem for the hills and Veluwe. Not Limburg, still very exotic compared to the rest. And a lot more central 😉

  22. Haha, I once found a book at a Bever outdoor store, with the 10 most fascinating mountain hike tours of the Netherlands. It’s been about 9 years already, but I still have to laugh every time I think about that.
    I spent my summer vacations as a kid in the Bavarian Alps. The hubris of whoever wrote that book is as hilarious as it is inspiring, I guess.

  28. In 2002 vertrokken uit Amsterdam, woon nu bijna 20 jaar in hartje Zuid Limburg en ga hier niet meer weg. Het is hier prachtig.

  30. Dit weekend een tourrit gehad in de omgeving Valkenburg, Meerssen, Margraten, Vaals etc. Soms waan je je in Duitsland of zelfs Engeland.

  32. Kom ook maar een keer kijken in Nijmegen, Beek-Ubbergen, Berg en Dal, Heilig Landstichting en Groesbeek. Maar niet verder vertellen!

  37. De omgeving bij het drielandenpunt in Vaals heeft veel mooie heuvels, heel mooi wandelgebied als je nog meer wilt zien!

  38. Just so you know, there is also a place outside Limburg that has “hills”. Its around Nijmegen, between Beek and Groesbeek. No trains there though 😀 only a lot of people on bikes

  40. De omgeving van Nijmegen heeft anders ook nog wel een paar behoorlijke heuvels. De Sint-Jans berg, bijvoorbeeld. Of de duivels berg.

  44. Ik kom uit Limburg, woon nu in de buurt van Berg en Dal. Ik krijg het omgekeerde van claustrofobie van die platheid waarbij je zo ver kan kijken die je hebt als je richting het Noorden gaat.

  45. Heb altijd het gevoel gehad dat Nederland één gigantische park is. Alles is flak, je loopt een paar km en je bent weer in de bewoonde wereld.
