Dr. Keith Spain of Baldwin Bone & Joint will serve as medical director for the 2026 Azalea Trail Run, continuing a role he has held for five consecutive years at one of Mobile’s most recognizable community events according to a news release.
The race is scheduled for March 28.
A long-standing Gulf Coast tradition, the Azalea Trail Run draws thousands of runners each spring and is a centerpiece of the region’s athletic calendar. As medical director, Spain is responsible for overseeing medical preparedness and on-course care, working closely with race organizers, first responders and volunteer medical teams to help ensure the safety of all participants.
“Events like the Azalea Trail Run bring people together and promote healthy, active lifestyles,” Spain said in the release. “It’s an honor to support the runners and the community by helping ensure the race is both successful and safe year after year.”
Spain is a fellowship-trained, non-surgical sports medicine specialist with extensive experience treating athletes and active individuals of all ages. His continued leadership at the Azalea Trail Run reflects Baldwin Bone & Joint’s long-standing commitment to community wellness and support of athletic events across the region.
