Trading on Fridays will conclude at 2 p.m. to accommodate the onset of Shabbat, the Jewish Sabbath, when most businesses in Israel close.

Previously, the TASE operated Sunday through Thursday, reflecting Israel’s traditional workweek.
The change aims to increase overlap with trading hours on Wall Street and European exchanges, giving local investors greater flexibility to react to overseas market developments, exchange officials said.
The move, approved by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, is expected to boost liquidity and make Israeli stocks more accessible to foreign funds, potentially aiding inclusion in key international indices.
The shift ends a decades-old practice, with the final Sunday trading session held Dec. 28, 2025.
