Canada finished as the winner of Group B with three wins and an overtime loss, sending the team through to the quarterfinals. After a dominant 7-1 win against Slovakia, the Canadian team came back to earth against Czechia, losing 6-4.
Despite the loss, Canada has had one of the best offensive performances in this tournament. Two of the three players tied for most points are Canadians Zayne Parekh and Michael Hage, each with 11.
Finland finished the group stage third in Group B with two wins, an overtime loss, and a regulation loss, then scored a major upset in the quarterfinals with a 4-3 overtime win against the United States. That was followed by a 4-3 shootout loss to Sweden in the semifinals, with the Finnish side barely missing out on what would have been its second consecutive trip to the final of this tournament.
