Boris Johnson ‘Asked Sue Gray Not To Publish Partygate Report’ | Report suggests PM told civil servant “it’s all out there” already.

  1. Well you bumbling twerp if it’s “all out there already” it doesn’t matter if it’s published does it.

So sick of this lying deceitful shit.

  2. The article cites [a *Times* story](https://archive.ph/0dZuq#selection-949.0-965.335) published last night:

    > The Times has been told that Johnson suggested Gray should drop her plans to publish her report during a secret meeting with him earlier this month. Steve Barclay, his chief of staff, was also said to have been present.

    > “He asked her, is there much point in doing it now that it’s all out there?” a Whitehall source said. “He was inferring that she didn’t need to publish the report.” Another added: “They were exploring this idea of not having any report. It was being talked about [in Downing Street]. But politically they realised they couldn’t do it.”

It proceeds to recount various shades of calls for Johnson to relieve the country of himself from all sides, as he obviously broke the ministerial code and lied to parliament.

In response to the apparently untenable situation of the PM, No. 10 issued their standard line of “wait until the report is published, at which point Johnson will lie to Parliament some more.”

  3. Quite satisfying to know that the meeting was him begging her not to do her job, but nothing ends well when Johnson is near it, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it worked.

  4. Very interesting that he’s that worried enough to beg for this to not be released, although I’m sure he will still get away with whatever detail he’s trying to hide. Even though he apparently doesn’t have anything to hide given it’s all out there.

I can’t help feeling really uneasy (if that’s the word) about how Sue Gray has been put in a position where old Alexander de Pfiffel can scapegoat the shit out of her. It seemed odd to name her and publish photos of her in every paper going. Absolutely disgusting to pin this on a civil servant, but I guess we can’t possibly expect Alex to take responsibility for himself. Only common plebeians do that!

  5. Fail to publish and there will be open revolt from their own party members, who took on red wall seats and are now being flicked into the wind like an odious nose picking.

The PM and his Chief of Staff should never have been allowed to meet with Sue Gray. Surely this is a massive conflict of interest and should have been stopped. Is our independent investigative oversight now subject to the whims and influence of the very person being investigated? Utterly ridiculous and damaging to the reputation of our country’s reputation internationally.

If you are Sue Gray, why would you even agree to this meeting? It doesn’t make sense.

  6. At this point I’m more angry at the Tory MPs who have not gotten rid of this man. It’s absolutely disgusting. The Tories are the party that do not believe in law and order, it’s that simple.

  7. This whole thing makes me sad. It reminds me of what normally happens in so-called third world countries.

  8. The Sue Grey report coming out will bring more cases of rule breaking forward as people scrutinise it to its last letter and work out a perfect timeline of events.

If anything contradicts reality thats where the story lies and if cummings has any more in his cache of photos we might see those come forward too.

  9. Just so I’m clear:

    – Metropolitan Police initially not interested in parties due to “insufficient evidence”

    – Sue Gray commissions independent report into No10 lockdown parties

    – Sue Gray collects evidence without much issue, prompting (*edit: among other things—eg. Good Law Project suit against Met) the Metropolitan Police to start their own investigation to save face

    – Sue Gray delays publication of report (ostensibly) so as to not interfere with or colour the separate investigation made by Police, Gray to wait until police investigation
complete (recall: police investigation only started because of Sue Gray report and GLP suit)

    – When called on the comment, PM states the need for the police investigation to be completed before will discuss parties

    – Police investigation completed

    – When called on the comment, PM says Sue Gray report will need to be concluded and published before will discuss parties

    – PM aims to make sure the independent report that was originally commissioned in the *absence* of a police investigation, and was then delayed by *the very* police investigation *it directly instigated*, ought *not* be published **precisely because the publication of both the report as well as the findings of the very investigation it helped instigate might be redundant**, so he never has to discuss it…

I can’t even see the looking glass any more

  10. This alone should be enough to have him removed – interfering with an independent inquiry.

Not that it will, of course.

Don’t think I shall bother voting again.

  11. Many of the facts are out there, but it sounds like Gray has sought to tie it why the parties occurred which will focus everyone on Johnson as responsible for the culture that allowed it to happen. He can’t deny he was there for his entire time in office or hide in the fridge from that allegation.

  12. Is there a good reason for labour not to table a parlimentary confidence vote once the report drops? Should make for some good tv

  13. The way he keeps bending the law and perverting 1000 of years of established law making and justice can we just call him out for High Treason?

I mean he’s betraying the country and its historic values and if MP’s keep this up people are going to start losing faith in the law and vigilantism will become the norm.

  14. This government doesn’t publish reports on Russian money. Doesn’t publish reports on how many people the DWP has killed. Of course they’d see if the party paper can disappear too.

  15. Can we not create a petition and ask for the publication, before they actually manage to block it?

I’d say we should move pre-emptively and stay on top of them.

  16. Said with all the integrity of a dodgy car salesman.

When someone says “you don’t need to read that, it’s a standard contract, just sign here”, you make sure you read the fucking contract.

  17. MPs can’t get any real work done as they’re 24/7 defending this complete cunt.

Fuck you Boris and everything you stand for.

  18. Well if it’s all ‘old news’ surely people won’t care and brush it of as such and get on with their lives. Somehow though, holding a secret meeting and telling Sue Grey to not publish it, makes me think it’s not…

  19. Yo, Bozo, Starfleet called, they want to employ you on the latest Enterprise – apparently you’re a thousand times more efficient than their best deflector shield!

  20. There should be a real effort to remove this government at this point. Alas, I think a majority MPs have shown themselves to be self-serving. I think our country will topple in spite of keeping such an archaic system.

  21. Genuine question – as a country, do we not have any powers to remove this guy. Are the only options for him to die, resign or be voted out in a vote of no confidence?

  22. Another day, another Tory being a complete sack of shit. I swear to god if people vote this traitorous pissflap of a party in again I’m cutting off a chunk of the coast and making my own island
