QatarEnergy and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) have signed an MoU to supply Egypt with up to 24 LNG cargoes in 2026. The MoU covers LNG sales and imports with deliveries scheduled to Egypt’s Ain Sokhna and Damietta terminals.

The agreement was signed in Doha by Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of Qatar Energy Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, and Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi.

“This agreement builds on our recent successful cooperation with Egypt particularly with respect to the supply of LNG from QatarEnergy’s portfolio,” stated Minister Al-Kaabi.

The agreement supports Egypt’s efforts to secure reliable gas supplies during peak electricity consumption periods. Summer demand has intensified pressure on Egypt’s gas balance in recent years, contributing to supply shortfalls and power disruptions.
