Pack your bags — Croatia has just landed a major travel thumbs-up from the UK.
The country has been included on The Good to Go List 2026, an annual ranking by Wanderlust, one of Britain’s oldest and most respected travel magazines. The list highlights 26 must-visit destinations worldwide for the year ahead, chosen for authentic experiences, responsible tourism and powerful local stories — and Croatia made the cut.
According to the Croatian National Tourist Board, Croatia earned its place thanks to its rich history, cultural heritage and strong national identity, offering visitors far more than just a sun-and-sea break.
“Croatia among the top 26 destinations for 2026 is another major recognition from a respected international media outlet,” said Bisera Fabrio, head of the Croatian Tourist Board’s London office. She added that British travellers increasingly see Croatia as a safe, high-quality destination offering memorable experiences all year round — not just in summer.
Wanderlust’s feature on Croatia dives deep into the country’s past, describing it as a long-standing crossroads of human evolution, gastronomy and culture. Highlights include Krapina, home to the world’s most significant Neanderthal remains, the ancient Vučedol culture, and even the cravat, which the magazine notes originated in Croatia.

Food lovers also get a mention, with Istria singled out as one of Europe’s top truffle regions, famous for festivals and gourmet events in towns such as Motovun and Buzet.
With Britain one of Croatia’s key tourism markets, the Wanderlust endorsement is a timely boost — and a clear signal that Croatia is firmly on the global travel hit list for 2026.
