In March 2025, the defense ministers of Croatia, Albania and Kosovo signed a declaration aimed at strengthening defense cooperation.

Croatia has rejected accusations made by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, with Interior Minister Davor Božinović calling for peace and cooperation in the region after Vučić alleged that Croatia, Albania and Kosovo had formed a military alliance against the Serbian people.

“Croatia is a member of the European Union, and everything it does in international relations is carried out transparently,” Božinović said, stressing that messages of peace and cooperation should be shared across the region and among neighboring countries.

On January 5, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said during a visit to Trebinje, in Republika Srpska, that Croatia, Albania and Kosovo had not formed an alliance against Austria because it is militarily neutral, but rather against Serbia and the Serbian people.
