British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron and Volodymyr Zelensky signed a statement.

This is a Declaration of Intent to deploy forces in Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement, the Telegraph reports.

“This is a vital part of our strong commitment to staying with Ukraine for the long term,” the statement said.

The “Multinational Force for Ukraine” will act as a security force to strengthen Ukraine’s security guarantees and ability to return to peace and stability, supporting the regeneration of Ukraine’s own forces.

The signing of the declaration paves the way for the creation of the legal framework for French and British forces to operate on Ukrainian soil, securing Ukraine’s skies and seas, and building armed forces fit for the future.

“In today’s discussions we also went into greater detail about the mechanics of deploying the force on the ground. In addition to our plans for a coordination cell, following the ceasefire, the UK and France will also establish ‘military hubs’ across Ukraine to enable the deployment and construction of protected facilities for weapons and military equipment in support of Ukraine’s defence needs,” it was said, among other things. /Telegraph/
