Estonia and Latvia have officially launched the long-awaited Tallinn-Tartu-Riga train line. The inaugural run departed Tartu Railway Station at 10:05 AM on January 5, 2026, with regular service set to begin on January 12, offering direct, transfer-free travel between the two cities in 3 hours and 41 minutes, and between Tallinn an Riga in 5 hours and 56 minutes. For now, the trains only run once a day.
