A 30-year-old French national who was in Malta on an Erasmus programme has been reported missing, prompting a police appeal for information.
The man, Samiel Daroussi, was last seen in Tas-Sliema on Friday morning. Police said he had lost his mobile phone two days before he disappeared.
According to Times of Malta, Daroussi was in Malta as part of an Erasmus placement linked to his studies. He was training to become a technician and was also attending courses to improve his English.
Daroussi is originally from Mayotte, a French overseas territory located near Madagascar.
The training centre that placed him in Malta, SAS Daesa, said it remains in constant contact with Daroussi’s family, who are described as being deeply concerned about his disappearance.
Police are urging anyone with information that could help locate Daroussi to come forward. Reports can be made confidentially by contacting Police Headquarters on 21 224001 or 119, or by visiting the nearest police station.
