A vehicle incident has forced the closure of northbound Highway 19 between Summerset Road and Hillview Road, about nine kilometres south of Parksville on Tuesday evening.
Around 4:45 p.m., DriveBC reported the road was closed northbound while crews assessed the situation. Southbound traffic was also affected, with the left lane closed through the area.

Motorists were advised to expect significant delays and consider alternate routes if possible. There was no estimated time yet for the highway to reopen as of early Tuesday evening.
Police and emergency crews were on scene, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
