  1. > Rishi Sunak shelled out more than £10,000 to fly by private helicopter to a glitzy Tory dinner in Wales at the weekend.

    > The multi-millionaire Chancellor paid out of his own pocket for a return flight from Battersea heliport to the Conservative conference in Newtown, Powys.

When you spend [£500k of taxpayer money](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/rishi-sunak-focus-groups-rayner-b2084297.html) on focus groups trying to massage your image and somehow miss obvious questions like “should I casually blow ten grand on an evening out and just hope no-one notices?”

  2. I’m glad he’s making the rules on what the likes of us can afford, hope energy crisis isn’t hitting him too hard /s

  3. But if you cut back on Netflix and Avocado toast….whilst working 80 hour weeks you’ll be just like him in a few years time

  4. There’s no point pretending the blokes not obscenely wealthy and this is spare change to him. At least he paid it himself.

  5. I mean jokes aside if I was rich enough to be riding a helicopter, I wouldn’t be. I swear half of billionaires tragically dying is because of a helicopter crash. In the oil and gas industry I heard offshore workers jokingly refer to them as flying coffins before now.

  6. I buy a £5 bath bomb from Lush (2py) and internally argue ‘you’re worth this, chill’ with ‘it’s £5 in bath water!’ – fighting luxury item spending guilt. This dude gets a 10,000 Uber.

Rich be riching but fuck me it hurts to compare. Should have worked harder in school/popped out the right vagina. Sorry mum.

  7. I’m surprised he even has the fucking balls to go to Wales after he spent billions upon billions during covid and turns round to Wales and says “we haven’t got enough funding to help you” WALES PAY TAX TO THE ENGLAND GOVERNMENT.

  8. Really puts it into perspective doesn’t it

10 grand on a helicopter ride. That’s what I earn in a year. And he just spends it like it’s nothing

  9. He’s married to a billionaire, of course he take £10k chapters everywhere. The outrage should be that people like this are running the country, I mean come on – are these people having issues with feeding their children, heating their homes or struggling to find an NHS dentist?
