CP – Comboios de Portugal train service between the Cais do Sodré and Algés stations will undergo significant changes on January 9th and 10th, 2026, due to the final phase of a series of works associated with the expansion of the Lisbon Metro network.

Service will be affected due to expansion works on the Lisbon Metro network. According to Executive Digest, Metropolitano de Lisboa, CP, and Infraestruturas de Portugal reveal that the restrictions are due to the need to complete work on the new tunnel that will connect the future Santos station, on the Circular line, to the Cais do Sodré station.

All trains departing from Cais do Sodré from 10 PM on January 9th, as well as during the early morning of the following day, will not run between Cais do Sodré and Algés, starting service at that station with the destination Cascais.

On January 9th, from 10 PM onwards, all trains departing from Cais do Sodré will not run, and the same will happen in the early morning of the following day.

In the opposite direction, trains departing from Cascais on January 9th will end their route in Algés, not continuing the journey to the terminal station of Cais do Sodré.

In order to reduce the disruption caused, replacement road services will be available between Cais do Sodré and Algés while the trains are not running.
