Centers of Suppression Targeted, Regime Forces Flee in Many Areas

On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, the 10th day of the nationwide uprising, protests and clashes with suppressive forces expanded throughout Tehran and dozens of other cities. Merchants in Tehran also went on strike and held demonstrations.

On Tuesday, merchants in Tehran’s Grand Bazaar held protests, leading to hit-and-run battles with Khamenei’s repressive forces. The clashes spread from Seh-rah Azari to the Grand Bazaar, Naser Khosrow, and Khayyam. In Saray-e Melli and Sabzeh Meydan, rebellious youths retaliated against attacks by regime mercenaries with stones and Molotov cocktails. Simultaneously, intense clashes erupted in the neighborhoods of Nezamabad, Haft-howz, Moniriyeh, Tehransar, Hafez Bridge, and Berlin Alley. On the same day, students at Kharazmi University demonstrated, chanting, ‘Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Leader.’ Students at the University of Science and Technology’s boys’ dormitory protested with the slogan ‘Death to the dictator,’ while Ba-Honar University students chanted, ‘Protest is our inalienable right’ and ‘Don’t think it’s just today; we are here every day.’

In Mashhad, youths clashed with regime agents on Tous Boulevard and Salman Farsi Street, seizing their equipment. In the Qasemabad district, they forced motorcycle-riding security agents to retreat. Clashes in Isfahan were intense, as suppressive agents attacked protesters with water cannons containing chemical irritants, causing severe eye irritation. In Yazdanshahr, Isfahan, regime mercenaries also opened fire on the families of prisoners.

Youths took control of squares in Qazvin (Alvand and Khayyam Square) and Shahr-e Kord. The regime’s city council building in Karaj (Fardis) was also targeted. Protesters blocked roads and streets with burning tires in Ashkhaneh, Dokouheh Andimeshk, Shiraz (Lapouee), Neyriz, and Bandar Abbas. Reports also indicated clashes between residents and suppressive forces in Borujerd, Lahijan, Sari, Saqqez, Qasr-e Shirin, Mazhanabad (Khaf), Saman, and Saleh-Abad, Ilam.

In Borujerd, a large contingent of youths took to the streets, clashing with suppressive forces.

In Ashkhaneh, North Khorasan province, youths clashed with suppressive forces and blocked a main road. In response, the regime’s forces attacked them with tear gas and live ammunition.

In Sari, youths demonstrated, chanting, ‘This year is the year of blood, Seyed Ali will be overthrown.’ In Saqqez, youths also clashed with suppressive forces.
