Toronto police say a 40-year-old man has now been charged in the fatal shooting of another man on a GO bus near Yorkdale mall over the weekend.

Toronto police say a 40-year-old man has now been charged in the fatal shooting of another man on a GO bus near Yorkdale mall over the weekend.

According to police, the victim and suspect boarded a bus at the Yorkdale GO bus terminal near Yorkdale and Allen roads at around 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4.

Police allege the suspect shot the victim on the bus before fleeing the area on foot. The victim, who has not yet been publicly identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the suspect was located and arrested a short time later.

He has now been identified as 40-year-old Tyrel Gibson, of Toronto. He is facing one count of first-degree murder in connection with the deadly shooting.

Police said they are waiting to notify next-of-kin before releasing the name of the victim.
