As the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people gains momentum daily, with most cities engaged in a decisive battle against the ruling dictatorship, the regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, has ordered his forces to open fire on protesters, attack hospitals, and arrest the wounded. Simultaneously, he has escalated the execution of prisoners in a desperate attempt to prevent the inevitable overthrow of his regime. With two and a half months remaining in the Persian year 1404, the number of executions has reached at least 2,016. However, this brutal tactic is no longer effective and only further fuels the flames of the uprising.

On Wednesday, January 7, regime authorities hanged seven prisoners. According to Mizan, the regime’s judiciary news agency, one of the victims, Ali Ardestani, son of Ahmad, was executed ‘this morning (Wednesday, January 7, 2026) on charges of espionage.’ The clerical regime’s sources have provided no details regarding the time and place of Ali Ardestani’s arrest, imprisonment, or trial.

The other victims on January 7 were identified as Kaveh Panahi and Ali Neyrang in Yazd, and Yazdan Allahyari, Hal Pishva, Omid Nobakht, and a prisoner with the surname Hosseini in Qezelhesar Prison.

On Tuesday, January 6, eight other prisoners were executed in various cities: Farajollah Tabarok in Borazjan, Mehran Chupani in Jiroft, Moslem Haji Babaei and another prisoner in Ahvaz, Soltan Morad Rasouli in Khaf, Karam Shahbahri in Birjand, Fardin Sohrabzadeh in Ilam, and Mohsen Teymouri in Rasht.
