Hey, am I the only one who got this message? I don’t trust this link!

  1. 1: Why are there bars next to my name? ( seems like a bot thing to me).

    2: I… don’t live in Switzerland.

  2. I got one. Dodgy link. I replied I don’t live in CH. didn’t get a reply. Prolly a bot. Don’t click links you don’t 100% recognise.

    Edit_1: https://whois.domaintools.com/forms.gle

this page will show you more info about the domain. Someone registered it in the US.

Usually surveys or quizzes (like buzzfeed quizzes) are social engineering techniques to learn more about potential targets or just to distract the target while malicious code gets ran through the browser.

Edit_2: It appears to be a google forms link. Still weird to just message people on reddit like that.

  3. Got the message, wanted to know whats up, they said they will contact me from their private account, never got a PM again.
Edit: in my case there was no form to fill out

  4. I got the exact same message on LinkedIn from a woman of the diversity department of the zurich university of applied sciences (Yes, this really exists), except the “nice username” of course. My guess is that they just want to promote their magazine on Reddit. But you never know, I agree with the others to not open the link.

  5. Not a dangerous link. I replied to the link about a month ago. It was woman doing a survey and asked a few simple questions via a Google form link. I got a free online subscription to a magazine about activities in the Zurich area for filling out the short questionnaire.

  6. I got it also, it’s legit. Just some magazine about Zurich life trying to get started. They are still trying to get people registering. Nothing malicious tho.

Edit: this is the publication https://tsri.ch/

  7. It’s legit, I have heard IRL about the person who is doing that and she needed to reach some quota of people answering her survey

  8. The link looks like a legit Google Forms link, but he might ask some dodgy questions in the form.

  9. Now that you remind you, yes I’ve got something similar. But I just replied I don’t even live in Zurich and that’s the end of the story.

Edit: mine was in swiss german and much shorter, but it appears to come from the same organization.

  10. Got it a few weeks ago.

In my case it said “I’ve seen you also live in Zurich” which is nonsense anyway. So I ignored it 😉

  11. Yes, and I did message them back. A few days later I got a message (from a different account) that sent me a legit link to a google forms survey. I have ignored it tho since I wasn’t really interested.

  12. I got a similar message, but mine was in swiss german. So I guess that person is actually from Zurich.

Also, you should be fine clicking on the link, it’s just a google forms survey.

  13. I got really upset over this message, replied to her that Zürich does NOT intrest me and getting news over e mail? Hell NO! What is this 1990? Scummy af. Report and move on!
