According to ECO, unemployment in the Eurozone has decreased and stabilised in the European Union (EU). In Portugal, the unemployment rate is 5.7%, which is below the European average.
Data released by Eurostat and cited by ECO show that in November, Portugal recorded an unemployment rate of 5.7%, while in the EU it was 6% and in the Eurozone 6.3%.
“In November 2025, the unemployment rate in the Eurozone was 6.3%, below the 6.4% recorded in October, but above the 6.2% recorded in November 2024. The unemployment rate in the European Union was 6.0%, stable compared to October and above the 5.8% recorded in November,” informs the statistics office, quoted by ECO.
