San Jose Sharks forward Pavol Regenda was named to Team Slovakia for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.
The Sharks winger has made an impact in the NHL this season with six goals in six games. He had a strong training camp but did not make the opening-night roster. That hasn’t stopped Regenda from producing when he’s been recalled. For the past two games, the Sharks have deployed Regenda on the second line.
“It’s a big chance, and I’m gonna grab it,” Regenda told SHD. “Just gonna try to support those two guys. I know what their strength is, and I know what mine is.”
With Ty Dellandrea injured, Regenda’s stay in the NHL might be more extended than first anticipated, especially if he keeps scoring.
The 2026 Olympic Games will actually be Regenda’s second time representing Slovakia at an Olympic level. In seven games during the 2022 Olympics, the San Jose Sharks forward had one goal and three assists. Slovakia surprised many in that tournament by winning a bronze medal.
