Hij heeft een punt, er wordt veel te weinig nadruk gelegd op het Nederlands in de Waalse scholen, vooral in vgl met Vlaamse scholen.
Ik snap niet waarom er zoveel kritiek is in deze thread.

Is inderdaad wel jammer, zo heb ik bijvoorbeeld enkele jaren terug toen ik nog in het middelbaar zat uitwisseling gehad. Het viel zeer hard op idd dat hun kennis van onze taal echt wel een stuk minder is dan onze van het Frans. Het is nu niet dat ik een held ben in het Frans maar de basis etc kon ik toch vlot volgen en waarover het ging was ook geen probleem om te begrijpen, bij hun moest alles echt wel 2 keer herhaald worden voor het begrepen werd.

Nu ik ben ooit op uitwisselingproject geweest in een school in Verviers en ik moet zeggen dat was echt wel .. wauw. Wij konden toen al vlot een mondje frans terwijl die mannen hun boeken eigenlijk nog van niveau “het schaapje zegt baahhh” waren.

I’m sorry but if you are a federal politician in a bilingual country, then you learn those two languages. Sure, the Walloon school system is even worse than the Flemish one, but that’s no excuse for not taking some Dutch lessons so he can do his job correctly. And let me be clear, the same goes for Flemish politicians who don’t speak French.

I failed french 4 times in highschool, now i´m the only one from my class, who actually can speak some french because i use it at work.
Languages are great example of how our education system puts to much weight on knowledge instead of ability.
I have yet to meet a french speaker who actually uses the right conjugation.
This is why bouchez at most qualifies for a regional minister post, yes most walloons don´t have the means/chance to learn dutch, he does.

Ik heb het altijd gezegd: de oplossing van onze communautaire problemen zit in een unform schoolsysteem in heel het land (inclusief bxl en duitse kant, met verplichte frans/nederlands, duitse basislessen eventueel). Daarnaast ben ik voor een staatshervorming een waardevolle unificatie van regering. Stel je even voor hoe het land zou kunnen bloeien!

My perspective as a Walloon is that outside of school/university I never had any reason to speak Dutch beyond improving my employability (which is definitely not in the mind of most teenagers). I can confidently say that if today I have at least a mediocre level of Dutch it is thanks to our school system. Otherwise, I wouldn’t speak a single word.
I am a French waloon and still cannot understand anything from the NL comments here lol
And yes my Nederlands scholarship was awful, teachers were replaced by people from private companies who quitted because we were so many in classrooms and so much turbulent…

De tweede taal voor iedereen naar het Engels brengen? En de overheid enkel in het Engels laten werken? Dat maakt vertalingen overbodig en vergroot de potentiele samenwerking. Dan hoeft er ook niet voor een extreem politieke partij gekozen worden.
Let’s make the second language for every one the English language? Government should only work in English? This would make translations unnecessary and improves the potential collaboration. Then we don’t need to elect an extreme political party.

ik switch sneller naar het Engels dan naar het Frans, veel Franse jongeren leren ook sneller Engels dan Nederlands omdat ze kiezen voor een taal die hen in hun carrière meer kansen zal geven internationaal gezien. Op die manier gaat communicatie dan ook vlotter, zo ga ik het wel niet echt leren natuurlijk maar ja se de communicatie was dan toch duidelijk
Mijn vriendin van 25 van Argentinië is Nederlands aan het leren en is op 1.5 jaar tijd er in geslaagd vlot verstaanbaar Nederlands te praten. Geen excuus om er niet aan te beginnen

I mean we get the broken system we deserve. Nobody is willing to take the necessary steps to have a bilingual country and most people will not learn Dutch/French because they are lazy and have millions of excuses.
Some people have a belgian ID and can’t even speak one of the official language, let alone two.
If it was up to me i would make learning both languages mandatory with some form of incentive and very substantive penalties – now in practice this is very hard to introduce due to legal aspects as well as political short term agendas.
I mean… in vlaanderen was het 6 jaar passe compose herhaling, dus ik verwacht dat hun plan waalse scholen de kattenafspraak aan te leren voor 8 jaar 🙂
