Neighbors in Erie came together on Friday for the first peace walk for immigrants, migrants, and refugees.
It’s called You Are Not Alone, and Network Advocates for Social Justice and Benedictines for Peace hosted the first one on Friday.

Supporters gathered in Perry Square Friday afternoon, filling the park with prayer and song.
Organizers said that the goal is to protect those who are vulnerable, labeling the Erie community as a place of welcome.

“We want the community to come forward to show that they care. Every person deserves to be respected, and we have to honor their dignity. It’s important that we show up,” said Kathleen Kutz, a demonstrator.
Members plan to continue to show up on the second friday of each month this winter to support those in need.
