Are people honestly surprised that McDonald’s “meat” is pumped full of other shit?
And who are these investors that trusted McDonald’s to change to be “more healthy”? I’ve got a bridge to sell you.
Did people really expect their 89p hamburger to be 100% free range, organic?
>McDonald’s insists it has made ‘commitments and progress across its global supply chain,’ adding: ‘We are engaged in global partnerships across our supply chain to gather data on antibiotic use helping to inform the development and implementation of responsible antibiotic use policies for chicken, beef and pork.’
We will continue to release well worded empty statements that describe how we are looking at it (a bit) and doing nothing.
Not sure why McDonalds is being targeted, the standard beef being sold in all supermarkets, as well as other fast food restaurants and cheap pub chains will all be the same.
Anyone remember those ads a few years ago when they went after the common criticisms of their food?
They started with a nice family butcher saying something like “oooh those McDonalds burgers are full of nasty chemicals” and then a voice-over rubbished it and then slagged off local butchers.
Always struck me as unusully cruel, a huge multinational smearing local family butchers with genuine food quality concerns. Made all the worse by the fact they turned out to be true.
Meat in supermarkets that is labelled as antibiotic free has often been found to contain antibiotics. Is anyone really surprised that McDonald’s of all places would be the same?
I stopped eating this filth years ago.
Its not food and it should t be labled as such.
So if I’m sick I should just get a burger? Nice. Can we get them on prescription? Lmao. If I’m sick I’d rather have a mcdonalds every day instead of swallowing those giant pills.
On a serious note, between this and the way GPs throw around antibiotics willy nilly the rise of these multiresistant bugs is inevitable.
During c____d-19 I never got the chance for mcdoogs and waited a year for one, I got it and it was poor to say the least, my brain wanted this meal for over a year. There is more to this franchise than you think, using more tricks out of the book then we can imagine.
ITT People that want to get on a high horse, McDonald’s beef quality is top notch in the UK, while that might not be the same for everywhere thats up to those countries to have rules and laws for that meat.
As long as they are british antibiotics! /s
Since I stopped eating meat I’ve had considerably less issues with my plumbing. No more struggling for it to come out or hoping it will stay in. Every visit to the bathroom is short and effortless experience.
Between various Tesco re-packaged meat scandals and information like this where livestock antibiotics could be killing your gut flora. It’s not really a surprise.
“Whole cuts of forequarter and flank, a pinch of salt and pepper, and more drugs than a racehorse”
Hm they seem to have missed that last bit
Standard reminder that ‘thisismoney’ is simply a reskinned version of the Daily Mail
If you go to McDonalds or any of these other places just buy the plant burger.
That’s cool, tasty and kills viruses.
Good. We need a lot more radicalization of investors… the one’s who want to save lives, help people, and do good work… one can still make money but one can do it with compassion and ethics, they ought to really try it some time.
Not about the burgers. After years of avoiding McD, KFC, BK and crap like that. I recently purchased Apple pie and fries from McD, the fries tasted synthetic and the pies went from firm chunky pieces, with a sweet and sharpness taste to overly sweet mush. What I find both sad and disturbing is the amount of school kids who go to these places every day!!
