Prince Harry could bring his children to the UK more if his taxpayer-funded security is reinstated this year, an expert has said. While the Duke of Sussex lost a legal case in court last year to have his police protection in the UK returned to the level it was when he was a working royal, a review is now underway by the Home Office which could see this happen.

While the outcome of the review, which is expected to be made public soon, has not been confirmed, it is believed to be likely that the prince will be entitled to the police protection in the UK he has been asking for. This could change things for the duke, who lives in America, as he has said over the years that he feels the UK is unsafe for his family.

This is why Harry has only returned to his home country solo since 2022, leaving his children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, at home in Montecito with Meghan Markle.

However, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes Harry could bring Archie and Lilibet to the UK more if his taxpayer-funded security is reinstated, which would most likely be welcome news to King Charles.

Despite this, it is believed Meghan Markle may not be on these visits with her husband and her children.

Bond told the Mirror: “Harry says the security issue has been the biggest obstacle in any reconciliation with his family, and the primary reason that he has not brought his family to see their grandfather and experience their heritage.

“So, if that obstacle is removed, it seems reasonable to presume that he will bring Archie and Lilibet over here. And I think most people would be glad to see our old King reunited with the son he called his “darling boy“ and with the grandchildren he barely knows.”

She continued: “But I’m less convinced that the public is ready for Meghan Part Two. She’s clearly happy at home in California and I can’t see why she would want to come to the UK and face possible hostility. So, perhaps in future we will see more of Harry and possibly the children.”

Meghan, Archie and Lilibet last visited the UK in 2022.

Since then, Harry has visited his home country multiple times, however he has always made the trip across the pond solo while Meghan has stayed at the family’s Montecito home with the children.

This means that Archie and Lilibet have had little interaction with their royal relatives, including with their grandfather King Charles, who is reportedly sad at the lack of relationship he has with his two grandchildren in America.
