Nationwide Uprising- No. 37

Uprising spreads to 180 cities, with hit-and-run clashes in Izeh, Kermanshah, Gilan-e Gharb, and dozens of other cities, including at least 20 locations in Tehran
On Friday, January 9, 2026, the 13th day of the nationwide uprising, cities across Iran witnessed widespread demonstrations and confrontations between the people, including rebellious youths, and suppressive forces. By 11:00 PM Friday, clashes were ongoing in Tehran and dozens of other cities, including Mashhad, Isfahan, Shiraz, Karaj, Zahedan, Kermanshah, Izeh, Islamabad-e Gharb, Gilan-e Gharb, Dezful, Dorud, Babol, Ramsar, Chaboksar, Qom, Pakdasht, Baqershahr, Lamerd, Lordegan, Yazd, and Kuhdasht. As of Friday, the Iranian people’s uprising has encompassed at least 180 cities.
In Islamabad-e Gharb, protesters controlled the city until 2:00 PM. Rebellious youths seized or set fire to the governor’s office and several government buildings used as hideouts by suppressive forces, and they disabled all city-wide surveillance cameras. During intense hit-and-run clashes in the city, at least six members of the suppressive forces were killed.
In Kermanshah, heavy clashes erupted in the ‘Dareh Derizh’ district, where people responded to the enemy’s attacks with weapons.
In one of Kermanshah’s hospitals, 41 citizens wounded by gunfire have been hospitalized. In Gilan-e Gharb, several government buildings and an IRGC vehicle were set on fire, and the provincial center was unable to dispatch reinforcements.
In Mashhad, large crowds took to the streets and clashed with suppressive forces, causing them to flee in some areas.
In Izeh, heavy armed clashes were reported, with the sound of gunfire heard throughout the city. The clashes were centered around Helal-Ahmar Square, where brave youths confronted the mercenaries, determined to fight to the end.
In Tehran, rebellious youths clashed with mercenaries in at least 20 locations, including Nezamabad, Ferdowsi Square, Saadatabad, Mirdamad, Valiasr, Andarzgoo, Chitgar, Yousefabad, Moshiriyeh, Shariati, Zafaraniyeh, Sattar Khan, Motahari, Rahahan, Ekbatan, Seyed Khandan, Khak-Sefid, Sadeghieh, Jannat Abad, and Narmak. In the Sattar Khan and Tehransar areas, people lit fires and chanted, ‘Death to the dictator’ and ‘This is the year of blood; Seyed Ali will be overthrown.’
In Pakdasht, thousands of people demonstrated and confronted Basij mercenaries who had attacked them. Three Basij members were punished by the rebellious youths. In Fardis, Karaj, Isfahan, and Yazd, large gatherings were also held, with protesters chanting, ‘Death to Khamenei,’ ‘Death to the dictator,’ and ‘Basiji, IRGC, you are our ISIS.’
