Overnight mutual drone attacks between Russia and Ukraine caused injuries and heavy damage, with three people hurt in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said on Saturday.

A man was injured in the regional capital Dnipro, and a man and a woman were hurt in the major city of Kryvyi Rih. Fires broke out there because of the attack, Hanzha wrote on Telegram.

“The infrastructure was damaged. There were power outages.”

There was also damage to energy facilities and corresponding problems with the power supply in Dnipro, he said. A garage complex was affected, he added.

Air defences were able to intercept 27 drones, Hanzha wrote.

Hit on Russian oil facility

In Russia, the defence ministry reported the downing of 59 Ukrainian drones. Of these, 11 were intercepted over the Black Sea and 10 over the southern Russian region of Krasnodar, it said.

There was also damage on the Russian side.

According to the governor of the Volgograd region, Andrey Bocharov, an oil depot in the urban settlement of Oktyabrsky was hit by drone debris. A fire broke out there and firefighting continued, he said. Residents had to be brought to safety because of the flames, he added.
