> Sources in the room told the Mirror that while just eight Downing Street aides were pictured, more were present but out of shot.
> They also claimed Mr Johnson had “instigated” the event, gathering staff around the table and pouring drinks before leaving 15 minutes later. One source at the bash said: “It’s absolutely unforgivable that the Met have fined people for this event but Boris got away scot free. It’s unbelievable he wasn’t even questioned, let alone fined, when he instigated the event and even poured the drinks.
> “The police need to explain clearly how they came to their decisions.”
> had told colleagues he had been informed by police that he would only be investigated for two of the six gatherings he was believed to have attended.
> Detectives are believed to have looked into his surprise birthday bash on 19 June 2020 and the so-called Abba party in the official Downing Street flat he shares with wife Carrie on 13 Nov 2020 . . .
(And therefore not into the photographed “leaving do”, also on the 13th Nov).
The Met’s investigation strategy has puzzled many.
> A nurse who organised a small socially-distanced demonstration against NHS staff pay cuts was fined £10,000.
> Yet the police have let Boris Johnson off the hook for this?
Did anyone really expect the proven institutionally corrupt MET to actually do anything other than protect their boss at all costs.
They deliberately ignored everything when it happened despite having coppers on the front door watching suitcases of boozes being brought in, they only took action once an inquiry was announced and then only so that they could delay the results of the inquiry and then they simply refused to even question their boss while he was at the very same parties that the managed to question and charge others people about.
Nothing other than pure blatant corruption and doing everything they can to save Boris “lying fuckwit”
Edit…
> A nurse who organised a small socially-distanced demonstration against NHS staff pay cuts was fined £10,000.
Of course normal people get fined thousands while the rich and powerful get not a single thing or simply a single £25 fine for a single occurrence and then totally ignored regards all the rest despite blatant proof of them breaking the laws.
This country is now openly and without shame a case of laws for the general public / the poor and no laws for the wealthy and powerful, we are basically back to semi-feudal times with the landed gentry doing as they wish and they own the police that now exist purely to protect them and keep the general population under control as demanded by the wealthy and powerful
Oh so now it’s 15 minutes + pouring drinks etc not ten minutes as was stated earlier?

EDIT: now the reports are stating 20 minutes plus set up…
He didn’t initially get a fine for the same reason that the vast majority of other lockdown breakers didn’t get fined – the police didn’t catch him in the act. The police had a policy of only fining those who were caught in the act, because breaking lockdown rules was so common that the police would never have been able to investigate every single lockdown breach that had ever happened.
The Met were protecting him, as was said all along. They only investigated to avoid the Sue Gray report being published, and now its been revealed that he asked her to shelve the report because “everything is already out there”. Which is exactly what we said would happen. Naked corruption.
Sorry but a photo of Boris standing just inside a room, with his briefcase slung on a chair in front of him and a glass in his hand, does not persuade me he was partying. Dropping in to say a very brief farewell to a former colleague? Yes, as he should.
It’s mindblowing that he is such a shameless cunt that he will *still refuse to resign*
Remember when the slugs were saying back in December that this’ll all blow over? We’re now 6 months into this shit with no end in sight.
Genuinely can’t remember a scandal lasting this long before.
That’s because the MET is as corrupt as the Tory party. They are lead by example.
Noticed the photos look a bit shit and have ITV watermarks, so here’s a nice framed version to enjoy
Everything they said Jeremy Corbyn would be ended up being what Boris Johnson became.
He is simply saying good luck to a retiring colleague. It was a kindly gesture and probably much appreciated. It is not equivalent to a hospital visit.
Boris told people in April before the met investigated that he was getting 1 fine. That would be why then, the met didn’t investigate…..
Does anyone else feel like this is being dragged out to distract us. What else are we missing? Is it just to deflect from the cost of living crisis?

The Mirror [reported last thursday](https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/partygate-police-probed-just-two-27013954) (19/5/22) that Johnson
> had told colleagues he had been informed by police that he would only be investigated for two of the six gatherings he was believed to have attended.

The Met’s investigation strategy has puzzled many.
Among them, Jolyon Maughm’s [Good Law Project](https://goodlawproject.org/), whose [legal threats](https://www.bigissue.com/news/the-met-police-is-being-sued-for-not-investigating-a-downing-street-christmas-party/) immediately preceded the Met’s change of heart in opening their investigation after initial reluctance, have indicated [they will send](https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/good-law-project-to-pursue-legal-action-against-met-police-following-partygate-picture-leak-323711/) “a further judicial review pre-action protocol letter to the Met in relation to the apparent failures in its investigation into the Prime Minister later this week.”
Similarly baffled, Labour’s Richard Burgon [commented](https://nitter.net/RichardBurgon/status/1528777433675182080):
