Amman, Jan 10 (SANA) Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi, and the U.S. Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack, reaffirmed continued support for the Syrian government in its efforts to safeguard Syria’s security, sovereignty, unity, and stability, as well as the rights and safety of all its citizens.
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement published Saturday that Safadi and Barrack, during their meeting, discussed the latest developments in Syria and in Aleppo. They stressed Jordan’s and the United States’ commitment to supporting efforts aimed at consolidating the ceasefire, ensuring the peaceful withdrawal of the SDF from Aleppo, and protecting civilians.
Both sides emphasized the immediate implementation of the March 10, 2025 agreement signed between the Syrian government and the SDF organization. They also reaffirmed joint work to apply the roadmap for “ending the crisis in Sweida and stabilizing southern Syria,” which was adopted in Syria on September 16, 2025.
On January 10th, Safadi reiterated, in a phone call with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shibani, Jordan’s firm position in supporting the Syrian government’s efforts to strengthen security, stability, and sovereignty.
