Dhaka: Ami Probashi, a digital platform serving Bangladeshi migrants, has launched a new Interactive Voice Response (IVR) service to help verify the authenticity of migrant visas before departure. The service aims to protect workers from visa fraud and ensure safer overseas migration.
The newly introduced service is currently available for Bangladeshi migrants traveling to Oman, Qatar, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Migrants can access the service by calling Ami Probashi’s helpline number 16768, where they can submit their visa details for verification and read a press release.
Once a request is submitted, the Ami Probashi team verifies the visa information through official channels. Customers then receive an SMS notification confirming whether the visa is valid or invalid. If a visa cannot be found in the system, the message advises the migrant to contact the respective country’s embassy for further clarification. If the visa is officially approved, a confirmation SMS is sent.
The service is available for a small fee and is designed to be quick and convenient, addressing a critical gap in the migration process. By introducing this verification system, Ami Probashi seeks to reduce incidents of fraudulent visas and help migrant workers travel abroad with greater confidence.
Commenting on the initiative, Tarique Ekramul Haque, Managing Director and Founder of Ami Probashi, said,“Our mission is to make migration safer and more transparent for all Bangladeshi workers. By providing a quick and reliable visa verification system, we aim to reduce the risks associated with fraudulent visas and empower our citizens to travel with peace of mind.”
Launched in mid-2020, the Ami Probashi app has grown to serve more than 9 million users and is recognized as the first comprehensive digital platform in Bangladesh dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by current and aspiring migrant workers through technology-driven solutions.
For more information or assistance, migrants are encouraged to contact Ami Probashi’s helpline at 16768.
