The UK plans to develop new Nightfall ballistic missiles for Ukraine with warheads weighing 200 kilograms. The range of these missiles allows them to hit Russian targets at a distance of more than 300 miles, including in the Moscow area.

This is reported by the Daily Mail .

Journalists noted that the UK Ministry of Defense has begun searching for British companies to design, develop and supply the first 3 Nightfall test missiles. The cost of the corresponding contract is 9 million pounds sterling.

According to available information, the Nightfall missiles are equipped with warheads weighing 200 kilograms. They can be launched in series and are designed to hit distant targets in Russia.

British Defense Minister John Healy commented on the prospects of new weapons during a visit to Kyiv.

“Defending cities is about creating a multi-layered defense, but also about being able to strike,” said John Healy.

He also drew attention to Russia’s constant attacks on Ukrainian territory.

“It was a sobering moment and a stark reminder of the massive drone and missile strikes that Russia is carrying out against Ukrainians in sub-zero temperatures,” said John Healy.

The Minister of Defense emphasized London’s determination to continue military support for Ukraine.

“We will not tolerate this and are determined to provide the Ukrainians with modern weapons so that they can resist,” added John Healy.

In addition, journalists reported that the United Kingdom plans to spend 200 million pounds sterling to prepare British military personnel for possible deployment in Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

By the way, the United Kingdom has transferred to Ukraine all the Raven anti-aircraft missile systems it had previously promised. This is 13 units of equipment intended to strengthen air defense.

It was previously reported that the UK conducted flight tests of a new cruise missile as part of the Brakestop defense program.

We will remind, in November, “Ukrainian Armored Vehicles” successfully tested the unmanned ground robotic complex Protector , which integrated the remotely controlled combat module “Tavria-12.7”.
