Russian forces struck 149 Ukrainian military and energy locations on Sunday, as fighting continues and diplomatic efforts to end the war stall.

Russian defense forces have carried out a series of attacks on Ukrainian military installations, energy facilities, and temporary deployment zones, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced. The strikes are part of what Moscow calls its “special operation” in Ukraine.

According to Russia’s TASS news agency on Sunday, January 11, tactical aircraft, attack drones, missile units, and artillery forces targeted 149 locations across Ukraine. The attacks reportedly involved a coordinated effort across multiple military branches.

Since the start of the conflict, Russia claims to have destroyed over 670 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 108,000 drones, 27,000 tanks, and armored vehicles. These figures underscore the scale of the ongoing military operations, which Kyiv and Western officials often contest.

Analysts note that Ukraine has strengthened its air defense systems and mobilized additional forces in response to repeated Russian strikes. International calls for a ceasefire and renewed diplomatic talks have so far not produced tangible results.

The Russian Ministry of Defense added that more than 51,000 special military vehicles have been destroyed during the operation. These attacks continue amid high tensions and a protracted standoff between the two nations.

Despite these large-scale operations, diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war remain stalled, and both sides continue to prepare for prolonged conflict. The situation highlights the ongoing challenges in achieving peace and stability in the region.
