The President was reported on the assessment of the situation in the border area and along the state border, as well as on specific proposals and their justifications. During the discussion, the Head of State also gave certain instructions and clarified issues related to the operational and service activities of the border guards, including border protection.
“We are a subject of state border protection, including in the airspace in co-operation with the Air Force and Air Defence Forces,” Mr. Molostov explained.
Describing the current situation around Belarus’ borders, the Chairman of the State Border Committee called it ‘consistently tense’, “This concerns our northern and western borders, where neighbouring countries are continuously increasing their military capabilities. And of course, the southern border, where combat operations are taking place on Ukrainian territory. In response, appropriate decisions have been made and measures have been taken to further improve the activities of the border service. Tasks are being carried out in co-ordination with the Armed Forces, the Interior Ministry and with significant support from local authorities.”
“The border service and Belarusian border guards are ready to fulfil their duties in the upcoming period — in 2026,” the Chairman of the State Border Committee emphasised.
