The annual inflation rate in Moldova eased to 6.8% in December 2025 from 7% in the previous month.
Price growth slowed for food products at 5.6% from 6.3% in November, mainly due to softer price increases for meats, fruits, milk and dairy products, eggs, vegetable oil, and a decline in vegetable prices.
Costs in non-food products also moderated to 2.3% from 2.7%, driven by slower gains in clothing, medicines, and building materials, alongside falling fuel prices.
Meanwhile, inflation in services rose to 14.9% from 14.2%, largely due to higher costs for communal and housing services, passenger transport services, and medical services.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.9% from 0.3% in the previous month.
