That hoi tho
50% chance this dude is not scamming you, but is just really lazy and isn’t ready to admit to that because shame makes the bad feelings come up again.
50% chance this dude is just a thief. Maybe a bit of both?
You have his number. Go to Police 👮🏻♂️
Facebook market is full of scammers, I got the same phone number from different sellers selling different products, is there any way to report a phone number for scam activity? Thanks.
That should be useful for many more people. I don’t speak German and I don’t want to dig into rabbit holes of information but something concrete and fast to report them.
I’ve had this happen to me (and to people i know), facebook marketplace is absolutely filled to the brim with scams. I’d say 99% you got scammed.
I still will never understand why you would send a random guy who lives who knows where money in advance. Facebook marketplace has no checks or verification procedures. Sorry to say, but you got scammed and most likely will never see that money or that phone.
Protip: do not TWINT strangers.
EDIT given the reactions: police won’t do jackshit for your 200/500 chf. They will tell you to be smarter next time and send you home. And obviously you won’t be bringing anyone to court to get the money back given the cost of lawyers in Switzerland.
This is how these guys have success frauding people – people believe that if you pay via TWINT you are safe. No you are not.
I had a similar experience once buying a used laptop via some online portal. Before I wired him money I got him to send me a picture of his passport which he did, but from the moment I sent the money there was nothing but shady excuses and then he stopped writing back (I also had his number).
I warned him a last time and then went to the police and it turned out the guy was a known drug user scamming people all over the place without even trying to hide his identity. Eventually he got before court but having used all the money for drugs nobody got any back from him.
I suggest you do the same (and sorry for your loss).
Go to the police but expect nothing.
I got scammed but my case got closed after a few months
Beware B post can take 3-4 days so maybe it will arrive today/tomorrow. Anyways if it doesnt:
I experienced the same thing as you on Tutti,
So, I bought a pair of Airpods pro but they never got sent. I then called my bank but since I paid with twint they couldnt refund me the money, the twint company..company policy. Tutti obviously couldnt help either. So i did what I would advise you to do too if you end up not getting the money from the bank. I filed a police report and now after abour the year i got a letters from court saying that me and 30 other people charged the guy. They found loads of other things to charge him with after a house and phone search (child porn, dangerous driving, fake rolex selling, scamming, robbing etc) he will get 4 years of jail on leave. If you have any questions about the process just ask! (Filing the report only took 30min easy process really)
Never pay in advance just go and get it
Here is a list of what I encourage you to do:
1) Report to Police
2) Get a police report
3) go to the bank with the police report
4) Get a chargeback from the Bank
5) Give that guy the finger.
I personally got scammed twice via Twint. The problem with it is there is a way you can use it as prepaid version so you only need a swiss simcard or number and nothing else.
I always send my money via IBAN so I have the Adress of a person and I also request the bill of the Deliveery cost.
I think you can try to reach out to the police about your situation but I think they can’t do anything
The seller said it will be sent on Monday. It may well arrive in a few days after that.
Hoi
So he said he will send it on monday and by monday you texted him already 10 times? 🤓
facebook marketplace is the worst shit ever. Its basically just scammer’s.
Tried to sell a couch on there. Got 20 messages, all tried to scam me. Not one serious request.
Since then im not even dealing with this shit anymore and i rather just throw perfectly stuff away than deal with absolute lowlifes trying to scam me.
Sad times.
You 100% got scammed and you guaranteed won’t get you money back. Why? Because Twint/your bank doesn’t care and they literally don’t have a chargeback procedure.
I work for public prosecutor and got a ton of cases like this. Go to police to make an Anzeige, go for Privatklägerschaft, so you can make a Forderung geltend. With Phonenumber and Twints its an easy game. Police will check whos number it is. We (public prosecutor) ask twint for transaction infos and infos about the twint account. They always give us exact personaldata (also photo of ID-Card). Next step is to check his bank account. Pretty sure there will be more and more twint transfers from scams. He will then get a Strafbefehl or he gets angeklagt to the court. Because of your Privatklage and Forderung he have to pay you that money back (obviously only and when he got money oneday and also when he get a sentences as guilty).
he can’t see your messages because his phone is on its way to you 😔
I think you can revert a transaction if you contact the bank. I do not know if it works the same with twint though. But i’d recommend you contact your bank regarding your transaction and see if it can be reverted, then you can make an “anzeige” towards the scammer and report them.
Hello, got scammed online too, im swiss too.
Go to our local police, and file an cybercrime conplaint, most likely as you sent the money via twint, they can find him through his phone number and then bank account
Just go to the police.
If you habe theor number, you can get his adress/name. And then its not that difficult.
You get yojr money back at least
You can easily get a case filed with police/attorney, but question is if its worth it for the product value (guess its low)
Isn’t Facebook a scam in itself?
Wait… why are people still using facebook??
