While Environment Canada’s warning is issued only for Kings County, CBC meteorologist Tina Simpkin said Islanders across the province could experience strong winds.
“Facing out into the Gulf of St. Lawrence, that’s where we’ll find those highest gusts. But still, anywhere else across the Island we’ll still experience and can experience winds 50 gusting up to 80 km/h throughout the day today,” Simpkin said.
Winds are expected to stay fairly high throughout the day, but should slowly subside towards supper time and overnight, she said.
