Three members of New Mexico Interfaith Power & Light, a nonprofit climate justice advocacy group based in Albuquerque, will start walking a 328-mile “pilgrimage” from Carlsbad to Santa Fe on Monday, Jan. 12, planning to arrive at the Statehouse on Climate Action Day on Feb. 5.Beginning in the vicinity of the oil-rich Permian Basin, the “pilgrims” will be calling on state lawmakers to take stronger pass stronger climate protection during the upcoming legislative session.According to the website sharenm.org, NMIPL is one of 40 state affiliates of the national nonprofit Interfaith Power & Light.
