Education is a cornerstone of democracy, yet political science curricula rarely treat it as such. In “Teaching About Schooling: Integrating Education Politics into Political Science Curricula,” Cameron Arnzen and Chloe O’Neill survey political science programs and find that only one in four offers a substantive course on education politics. They argue that teaching about education politics can enhance students’ understanding of democracy, reinforce core political science themes, and prepare graduates for civic and policy engagement.
