Turkey can’t be trusted, its a trojan horse within the Alliance. At a historic moment when NATO was about to celebrate its expansion and show its a bulwark against Russia, Turkey comes out and ruins the momentum with ridiculous requests.
Turkey a Middle Eastern country with an Islamist autocracy has no place in a Western alliance. As long as Turkey remains in NATO there will always be conflicts of interest
> Amid speculation about a reduced US military commitment to security in the Middle East, Turkey has spotlighted the region’s ability to act as a disruptive force if its interests are neglected.
Well, do not neglect our interests than? That is what allies are for, no?
> For the United States and Europe, the trick will be developing a policy that balances accommodating autocrats’ disruptive demands, often aimed at ensuring regime survival […]
This policy predates Erdogan by a large margin and has nothing to do with his regime’s survival. Stop lying.
Was there any similar article about Greece a few years ago?
I don’t think it’s dangerous for Turkey. They know that nobody will kick them from alliance, I guess NATO will just pay Turkey with money or weapons and Turkey will stop it
