The journalists were detained for entering a prohibited zone near the border, which all journalists, NGOs and other civilians have been banned from.

I can’t find any confirmation of this, and who cares about RT anyways? They’re russian propaganda.
They are members of RT so yes propaganda media, I live in Poland and if the area is a restricted one, it’s not a good idea to go there and expecting no troubles, there’s too much tensions there so the armed forces don’t need more people to protect.
