Anyone remember these beasts?

  1. Is that a yoyo? I remember having snickers beanie balls and something like fruit pastilles but what they were called in the 90’s and other brands of yoyos.

  2. Isn’t it time they were cool again? It seems every few years after they fall out of vogue they make a comeback. Like a boomerang or something.

  3. Yeas I do! We were obsessed with trying to learn the tricks, I’m not sure how kids picked them up since this was back in the 80’s pre-internet. ‘Walk the dog’, ‘rock the cradle’, was there a ‘waterfall’?

  4. Jesus, those were amazing. Walk the dog, loop the loop, round the world, baby cradle, motorbike.

It’s all coming back to me. You could get a professional, like that one, with a translucent rim and a bit more weight to it, or a super , which was a bit shite.

All in Coke, Sprite or Fanta colours.

There was a gold version which could only be won on a can or bottle of Coke. I managed to win one and it was just a Super with different paint. Not as good as the Professional.

  5. What amazed me was the fact that groups came into schools to show them off and sell them. I wonder what the kick back was…

  6. I certainly do , the Fanta ones also , winning ones from inside the coke bottle lids , also remember in early 80’s in Primary School a professional YO YO Spinner guy came on stage thinking he was the dogs Bollox . I did come across a gold one before glittery looking I think ?? Oh and that song 🎵 You can’t beat the real thing 🎵

  7. Had the Fanta, Sprite and Coke one. Must have been. 1997 or 1998 major fad if memory serves me correctly. Good times.
