London | Business chiefs, political leaders and analysts fear a deepening of Donald Trump’s trade war as the main challenge in 2026, as the US president himself prepares to venture to Davos, the symbolic heart of globalist capitalism during the annual World Economic Forum gathering.

Trump next week will headline the biggest roll call of world leaders the WEF has hosted, although for the third year running the Albanese government is not sending a minister to take part in the panels, sideline meetings and informal chats over schnapps that shape the event in the exclusive Swiss mountain resort town.
