Sources in Islamabad report the continued detention and forced deportation of asylum seekers from Afghanistan by Pakistani police.

According to sources, on Wednesday, January 14, Pakistani police detained several asylum seekers from the B17 area in Islamabad and transferred them to a temporary camp known as “Haji Camp.”

These sources added that a journalist is also among those detained.

Previously, sources have complained about extortion and bribery by Pakistani police in Islamabad, stating that police, particularly in the Faisal Town neighborhood, raid homes day and night in plain clothes and engage in extortion.
