The second day in Odesa continues the elimination of the consequences of a drone attack by Russia. According to the city press service, 45 apartments in eight buildings were damaged and 245 windows were broken. As a result of the night attack on January 13, energy facilities, multi-apartment buildings, and social infrastructure facilities were affected; six people were injured.
One of the Russian strike drones fell near a restaurant on the central Lanzheron Beach. The blast wave damaged the facade, windows, and interior of the establishment. Debris from the drone is still being found on the beach.
According to Oleksandr, who is helping in the aftermath response, during the explosion the restaurant’s second floor was damaged, and the first floor by debris. A portion of the “Shahed” drone dispersed more than 300 meters, causing damage to other facilities on the beach.

Consequences and Operational Response
In the center of Odesa, on Bazarnaya Street, an operational headquarters has opened. Municipal services are helping residents of damaged buildings seal broken windows and cover damaged roofs. Local residents have organized points where they distribute tea and prepare sandwiches for those affected.

The owner of the Lanzheron restaurant, Victor, said he learned about the attack from neighbors around six in the morning. According to him, there was a hit – windows and doors were damaged, so he quickly arrived at the scene.
In the city center, an operational headquarters is working, and local authorities and civil protection services assure that fires in an unused new building, the fitness-center building, the vocational lyceum building, and a garage with a passenger car have been promptly extinguished. Six people aged 35 to 68 were injured; one woman with a shrapnel fracture of the arm was hospitalized.
The Odesa regional prosecutor’s office has opened a pre-trial investigation into war crimes under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Also, as a result of the attack, two energy facilities of DTEK “Odessa Electric Grids” sustained significant damage. About 47 thousand families were left without electricity.
The consequences of the attack and the restoration of infrastructure will take time: work to repair the damage continues, and the city and regional response systems are actively working to restore normal life for residents.
